| The Permanent Assembly of Chambers of Trade The APCM represents crafts industry on a national, European and international level. Working for a network of 106 departmental Chambers of Trade and 22 regional Chambers, its authorities handle organisation of the network and develop collective actions and common services. Representation of arts and crafts The APCM is the federating national public body of Chambers of Trade governed by decree no. 66-137 of 7 March 1966. Via the work of its Committees and the General Assembly, the APCM ensures the synthesis of the proposals from the Chambers. Its resolutions are passed onto the Ministry for SME, Trade and Arts and Crafts, the supervisory body of the Permanent Assembly and to the other Ministries whose actions concern arts and crafts. As the forum for expression, debates, research and synthesis, the APCM is the partner of professional organisations within the sector and the interlocutor of the national and European public authorities. The APCM plays the role of spokesperson, organiser and advisor, vis-à-vis the Chambers of Trade, in their various areas of involvement. Working for the Chambers of Trade The APCM provides numerous services common to all Chambers of Trade: financial questions, apprenticeship and training, status of the artisan, qualifications, administrative formalities, statistics and research. Via the multiple external representations that it handles, the APCM maintains regular relations with the public authorities, public and para-public bodies and public and private companies acting in the environment of arts and crafts enterprises and networks offering support to creators-rescuers of companies in France. Management of examinations (choice of subject, production of documents) is a task handled by the APCM on behalf of the Chambers of Trade. Europe and the world The APCM is involved in representation of French arts and crafts vis-à-vis the European Union. It is the Euro Info Centre, head of the network since 1998. As a member of the European Union of Arts and Crafts and SME (UEAPME), it is in contact with its counterparts in countries within the European Union. Via its actions, it contributes to the integration of arts and crafts into European programmes implemented in the regions by the Chambers of Trade. |
